How to Audition

A PDF version of this information is here.

What are the steps to audition for SCO?

  1. Record and upload a YouTube video with scales and 2 minutes of a solo piece. Please refer to specific instrumental scales below.
  2. Fill out an online application form under Auditions. Note:
    • There are different forms depending on whether you are a student musician or a non-student community-member musician. However, the audition repertoire is the same for both.
    • You will put your links to your audition videos in the online application, so make sure these are done first.
  3. Submit the $25 audition fee by check or online:

Video Requirements

  • Only video recordings, uploaded to YouTube, will be accepted.
  • Your audition will not be judged on video or audio quality – recording on cell phones is acceptable.
  • Video can be stopped and started between excerpts, but individual excerpts may not be spliced or edited.
